Exploring research impact beyond traditional metrics: OpenAlex on open research intelligence

Exploring research impact beyond traditional metrics: OpenAlex on open research intelligence Online

To effectively plan and evaluate research strategies, institutions around the globe rely on data about the activities and outputs of their researchers and those at other institutions. Historically, those data were only available through costly commercial databases. Two years ago, OpenAlex launched as the most comprehensive and completely open database of the global research ecosystem (outputs, authors, institutions, etc.). In this session, we will (1) explore the foundations of OpenAlex as a source for research intelligence (2) showcase use cases by institutions around the world (3) walk through how to perform common research intelligence use cases in OpenAlex, and (4) leave time for interactive Q&A with the audience.
